Description	"The Terror of War", photograph showing Phan Thi Kim Phuc running down a road near Trảng Bàng, Vietnam, after a napalm bomb was dropped on a group of South Vietnamese soldiers and civilians by a plane from the South Vietnam Air Force. The village was suspected by United States Army forces of being a Viet Cong stronghold, and mistook the group for enemy combatants while they were fleeing from a Temple. Kim Phúc survived by tearing off her burning clothes. Kim Phúc (aged 9; middle) runs naked in the street, severely burned. Also pictured is her older brother Phan Thanh Tam (aged 12; far left), younger brother Phan Thanh Phuoc (aged 5; background left, looking back), and younger cousins Ho Van Bo and Ho Thi Ting (boy and girl, respectively; middle right). This Associated Press photograph won the 1973 Pulitzer Prize for Spot News Photography.

This work is in the public domain because it was published in the United States between 1930 and 1977 inclusive, without a copyright notice. Unless the author has been dead for several years, it is not in the public domain in countries that do not apply the rule of the shorter term for US works. The photo's country of origin is unclear, as it was distributed by the Associated Press and may have been published simultaneously in any number of countries. Per the Berne Convention's definition of "country of origin", the country with the shortest copyright term out of those where the photo was published would be the country of origin. Thus it is likely that the photo will be eligible for transfer to Wikimedia Commons 50 years after the photographer's death, the shortest copyright term allowed among Berne Convention countries.
